Project Manager, V2X/Energy
Client is looking for a UX Researcher in the area of V2X and energy (vehicle-grid integration) to impact decarbonization and support integration of renewable energy sources and zero emission mobility to bring our Ambition 2030 plans into fruition.
At Alliance Innovation Lab – Silicon Valley (AIL–SV), we bring artificial intelligence (AI) to mobility and beyond. From developing autonomous driving systems to designing experiences and building future businesses, our researchers apply AI technology to improve mobility for everybody. We are exploring the cutting edge of new technologies and combine with new business models to lay the groundwork for the future of mobility and energy.
As a Project Manager in energy, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the company’s strategic decisions around vehicle-grid integration via shaping business assumptions, proposing new user experiences and business models, and executing pilots with utilities, EVSE vendors, and other players of the energy value chain. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to develop future mobility and energy concepts.
B. Job Responsibilities
How you will be contributing
Collaborate with the team of product managers and designers to help set business assumptions
Conduct business experiments to reduce business risks
Contribute to quantitative research to prove business assumptions
Synthesize insights to help guide new business incubation
Manage small scale pilots in vehicle-to-home, vehicle-to-building, vehicle-to-grid, etc. in partnership with utilities and EVSE vendors
Engage with our research and business partners in the energy sector (from universities to hardware manufacturers, aggregators, and utilities) to identify new services and propose new research and exploration opportunities
Use your analytical skills to summarize the results and learnings of pilot projects to advance vehicle-to-grid concepts and business models
Monitor VGI trends in the US and propose new VGI studies and pilots
Communicate your work effectively through presentations and reports to stakeholders.
Requirements for you to succeed in this role
Masters in Business Administration/Management or Economics or Engineering
3-5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge and experience with Lean Startup methodology
Ability to model future scenarios, identify use cases and quantify business opportunities
Ability to identify customer needs and transform them into customer value
Knowledge and understanding of value capture & business models
Demonstrated project management and cross-functional leadership experience
Strong ability integrate a project-centric view into the broader roadmap
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Passion for doing research and development at the edge of human knowledge and desire to bring new innovations to real applications
Ways to stand out from the crowd
Self-motivated and action-oriented, energetic, able to work in a fast-paced environment
Good understanding of mobility, EV charging or energy
Passion to building mobility of the future and sustainability
Manage multiple priorities simultaneously

- Strong business background - lean start up and agile
- Entrepreneur experience would be great, because they would understand start ups
- Vehicle grid activities, vehicle to home work on design of business model of vehicle to home
Lean startup methodology – customer motivation, what does customer want, then embed into business model
Revenue streams, value partnerships to make this work
Can propose the business scheme on how to work with customers and utilities to capture the revenue
Business model design, would expect a draft proposal by the time the assignment is done
Auto experience – OEM not necessary, but auto ingeneral is required knowledge of charging, EV’s, VGI, etc.
Given the time, ideallythey will not have to ramp up to learn the industry, they can jump intoprojects
