We are looking for our next strategic thinker and financial expert to lead this incredible team as Director of Finance. If you are an experienced hotelier and controller, we are looking for you. In this role, you will oversee the financial planning, analysis, and reporting for all aspects of the Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the development of the hotel's business strategies
Develop and implement accounting and financial strategies that support achievement of the hotel's goals
Develop the annual budget in conjunction with the Executive Committee
Develop and implement financial and purchasing strategies which are aligned with the hotel's objectives and internal control practices
Counsel management teams on ways to maximize profits and cash flow. Analyze existing practices and data and suggest alternative strategies where needed
Prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department managers in this process.
Work with Choice Hotels Finance & Accounting teams in the resolution of accounting issues at the hotel and in the preparation of hotel financial statements and reports
Ensure that accounting practices adhere to legal requirements and Choice Hotelsstandards
Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential
Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement
Develop annual operating and capital budget by working with department managers; analyze budget variances and recommend strategies for improvement
Prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department managers in this process

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
Minimum of five years of progressive finance management experience in a hotel setting
Professional certification (e.g. CPA) or equivalent level experience required
Bachelors degree required
Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
Able to resolve conflicts with supervisors and employees
Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance and hospitality profession
Experience with accounting software
