Position Summary: The Radisson Hotel in Cedar Rapids is seeking a proactive and driven Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating and securing business across various market segments, including corporate, leisure, and group travel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong relationship-building skills, and a track record of achieving sales targets. As a Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue and supporting the overall success of our hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to maximize hotel revenue, focusing on corporate accounts, group bookings, and event space sales.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, including local businesses, travel agencies, and event planners.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation:
  • Execute sales strategies and initiatives to meet or exceed revenue goals for room sales, meetings, and events.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Client Engagement:
  • Conduct sales calls, site inspections, and presentations to potential clients to showcase the hotel’s facilities and services.
  • Follow up on leads and inquiries, ensuring timely and effective communication with clients.
  • Contract Negotiation:
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients to secure bookings and maximize revenue while adhering to company policies and pricing guidelines.
  • Prepare and present proposals and contracts that align with the clients' needs and hotel’s capabilities.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the hotel's events and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of events and group bookings.
  • Provide clients with support and guidance throughout the event planning process.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and revenue performance using the hotel’s sales management systems.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights for management review.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales, marketing team, and revenue management team to align sales efforts with overall business goals.
  • Participate in sales meetings and contribute to the development of sales strategies and plans.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel sales or a related field.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to close deals and build lasting relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and goal-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in sales and customer relationship management (CRM) software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required if offset by relevant experience.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer focus.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a passion for sales and hospitality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
