A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct care to patients and is a critical part of a healthcare team. An LPN usually assists a Registered Nurse (RN), and often oversees one or more Certified Nursing Assistant(s) (CNA) to carry out care plans, and maintain patient comfort and well-being. LPNs take on a direct role in providing personal care to those in their charge, often assisting with all areas of the patient’s daily living needs. This enables LPNs to have a hands-on understanding of the care needed and offers the ability to make a positive impact on health outcomes.

LPN job duties often include:

• Taking and monitoring patient vital signs
• Assisting patients with eating, dressing, and bathing
• Administering medication
• Communicating changes in patient behavior or health status to nurses, physicians, and family members
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Collecting specimen samples when needed
• Taking an active part in patient care planning
• Overseeing Certified Nursing Assistants and training
• Preparing patients for transfers or discharge
• Assisting in medical procedures

Qualifications:
- Possess strong skills in catheterization, basic life support, and patient care
- Knowledge of physiology, nursing, and HIPAA regulations
- Premium skills include critical care experience, IV infusion, and working in various healthcare settings
- Relevant skills in areas such as ophthalmology, cardiac catheterization, and health coaching

Job Types: Contract, Temporary, Travel nursing

Pay: $46.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
