Description of the role:

Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and upgrade the IBM i system, including software updates and configuration.
2. Fully manage the disaster recovery plan, including periodic testing.
3. Manage AS400 security policies and ensure the system's integrity.
4. Oversee the installation and configuration of AS400 software applications.
5. Provide secondary support for the Microsoft Windows network and assist with customer and vendor issues, ensuring problem-solving and solution-oriented approaches.
6. Work closely with the Network Operations Team to complete projects efficiently.
7. Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring the smooth operation of the system.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years administering IBM i / AS400 environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in programming RPG/RPGLE/RPGLE Free/SQLRPGLE.
• Initiative: Ability to take ownership of the AS400 system and drive its operation and maintenance.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to build relationships with employees and customers and communicate effectively.

Additional Information:This role is based in a standard office environment with frequent use of computers and office equipment. The position involves seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, and dexterity in hands. Ability to travel for meetings and projects is required.
