Rakhma Inc is Hiring a Weekend On-Call Care Partner / DSP / CNA (one OR two weekends per month) Near Paul, MN

Description

Join our dedicated team of passionate and professional care staff by making a difference in the lives of vulnerable adults. Our unlicensed staff provide direct care, pass medications, maintain electronic medical records, comply with patient safety practices, and work under the direction of the professional nurse and administrative staff. Care Partners interact with family members of residents and work as a team with fellow Care Partners, the Home Manager, Home Lead, and nursing staff. 

We are hiring someone to be on-call one weekend per month OR on-call every other weekend

· The assigned weekend will start at 2:30 pm on Friday and end at 7 am on Monday. 

· This employee must be available to work any and all open shifts over the assigned weekend (AM, PM, and awake overnight).

· If this employee is available to work and no shifts become available over the weekend, the employee will receive a $100 bonus every weekend s/he/they are available and not needed to work. 

· If any shifts become available over the assigned weekend, this employee must come to work within 30 minutes to fill the open shift. In addition to the $100 bonus, the employee will be paid a higher hourly wage for all hours worked (between $24.00 to $27.00, depending on experience)

· Note: if more than one shift is open over the weekend, all open shifts must be worked to earn the $100 bonus.

Shift times:

· AM: 6:30am-3:00pm

· PM: 2:30pm-11:00pm

· Overnight: 10:30pm-7:00am 

Shift time modifications are not available.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have reliable transportation and dependable communication methods to ensure punctuality and regular attendance.

All employees accrue Earned Safe and Sick Leave. 

Employees who work 20 or more hours per week are also eligible for Paid Time Off and medical/dental benefits; benefits start after 30 days. 

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Document resident needs and status in electronic medical record, to include accidents, updates and injuries.

2. Pass medication and complete online charting (training provided).

3. Assist with resident personal cares and ADLs, paying special attention to personalized service plans.

4. Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families and vendors.

5. Maintain safe environment by complying with all safety and regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures including Minnesota’s Vulnerable Adult Laws, Resident Bill of Rights, HIPAA. Use personal protective equipment.

6. Assist with outings and activities, resident guest visits, and volunteer-led activities.

7. Prepare meals, do laundry and perform housekeeping services.

Requirements

 EXPERIENCE:

1. No prior experience or training is required. Care Partner must successfully complete training provided by Rakhma (training at orientation and annual, ongoing training). 

2. Dementia experience is preferred but not required; dementia care training is required of all employees upon hire.

3. HHA or CNA certification is beneficial. (Loan forgiveness is available to do CNA classes and be added to the MN Nursing Assistant Registry)

4. Staff must successfully complete a background check with the Department of Human Services and a TB test to be eligible for employment.

Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands, climb stairs, balance, stoop, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
