This individual will provide leadership, direction, and management to all clinical staff and ensure a safe and efficient work environment for patients, physicians, and staff. You will be responsible for maintaining the security and privacy of PHI in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, and Raleigh Medical Group, PA policies on use and disclosure of PHI.

On an average day, you will:

  • Participate with senior-management level in all planning, policy making and decision making related to clinical operations involving nursing and clinical staff.
  • Ensure that nursing aspects related to risk management, reimbursement, financial management, and other administrative functions are incorporated into operational systems.
  • Establish a human resources plan for nursing including need for numbers and types of nurses and related allied health staff.
  • Help recruit, select, orient, and train new staff.
  • Maintain high quality of care by nursing staff and related allied health staff through continuous improvement of standards and protocols. Ensure all clinical staff members are trained in quality assurance/control requirements and meet these standards.
  • Resolve any medical-administrative problems and keep lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and productive workforce.
  • Supervise clinical personnel, assigning work duties, monitoring performance on a daily basis, and assuring that office procedures are followed.
  • Oversee OSHA training requirements of all divisional staff.
  • In conjunction with Director of Health Information and Technology, serve as key clinical lead for EHR workflow/functionality decisions.
  • Assure group financial policies and procedures are followed with respect to patient accounts.
  • Conduct meetings on a regular basis with clinical and other personnel.
  • Assure deposits are made daily and verifies the accuracy of petty cash amounts.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional development to keep current in the latest healthcare trends and developments.
  • Stay current with state, federal, and payer regulations/requirements and update professional standards for nursing for the medical practice appropriately.

To qualify for this job you must have:

  • Current NC state licensure required (RN).
  • Five years of medical office management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, medical office PM and EHR software programs.

Physical requirements and work environment:

  • Involves sitting for approximately 80% percent of the day, and walking and standing for the remainder.
  • May occasionally require standing for 80% of the day.
  • Requires lifting, bending and stooping on a daily basis.
  • Requires some lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.
