Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research is Hiring a Grants Administrator Near Atlanta, GA

Job Title: Grant Administrator

Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, empowers volunteers across the country to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures.

Rally is seeking an individual to serve as the Grant Administrator. This person may perform job duties remotely in the metro Atlanta area or in the Rally office located in Sandy Springs, GA. Hours for this position will fluctuate throughout the year from 8-24 hours a week in alignment with Rally’s grant cycle. The highest weekly hours will be between December and May.

The candidate must be enthusiastic, understand working for a nonprofit and remain flexible and open when faced with opportunities and challenges. The Grant Administrator position is a fast-paced, multifaceted opportunity for a candidate who takes initiative and wants to work hard while gaining unparalleled knowledge, experience and growth.

Job Purpose

The Grant Administrator is responsible for supporting the Grant Manager to annually execute the Rally grants program by administering the grant process throughout all stages, including applications, contracts, reporting and grant closeout. The Grant Administrator will ensure Rally’s grant-making and related processes, documents, procedures and implementation are executed professionally, efficiently, on schedule and in a manner consistent with best practices.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Grant Manager to manage post-award processes, including grant agreements, funding installments, principal investigator mailings and bi-annual reports.
  • Work with Rally staff and other Rally stakeholders to ensure they have a good understanding of grants processes and of the currently funded research.
  • Maintain grant files and online database to ensure accuracy and integrity of grant-related data.
  • Help maintain Medical Advisory Board member information in databases and on Rally website.
  • Help maintain relationships with co-funding nonprofit organizations by communicating information related to funded grants.
  • Interface with principal investigators and research institutions by tracking principal investigator publications and research success.
  • Work with the Grant Manager to manage the Proposal Central online grants management platform from applications to awards to closeout to tracking grant progress.
  • Explore new opportunities for grant growth and process improvements.
  • Support the execution of Rally-funded researcher events.

Qualifications, including education and experience requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, required. Preferably in administration, education, communications, business or a related field.
  • Experience in Grant Administration, a plus but not required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel. Internet research savvy.
  • A willingness to learn databased programs used within the organization. Experience with donor and grant making software (Salesforce, ProposalCentral), a plus.
  • Position requires absolute confidentiality as it pertains to the families we serve and the business the organization conducts.
  • Professionalism in appearance, attitude and presentation.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Available a minimum of 8 hours a week.
  • Available and flexible to work some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

This position reports to the Grant Manager.
