RAM ENTERPRISE INC is Hiring a Safety Trainer - Elko, NV Near Elko, NV

Job Summary:

This is a salary, nonexempt position in Elko, NV that reports to the Safety Superintendent for RAM Enterprise, Inc. Responsible for safety training and related programs at Elko operating sites, both surface and underground. Educates employees on Federal and State safety regulations. Plans, implements, coordinates, and directs safety and related legal activities (MSHA, OSHA, and DOT). Represents RAM Enterprise, Inc. working with internal team members as well as with outside agencies and inspectors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and provide RAM team members MSHA training, site specific training and RAM Reay training.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Responsible for record-keeping and other documentation as related to company health and safety requirements.
  • Perform as safety specialist on field service jobs as required.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures in the shop and in the field.
  • Must be willing and able to work a variety of scheduled on-call, including day/night shifts, weekend, and holidays.
  • Must be available to travel and work out of town when necessary.
  • Create and maintain accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations
  • Conduct assessments in collaboration with the operating departments
  • Manage the development and administration of training programs
  • Provide support and direction regarding the identification and assessment of continuous improvement opportunities within the training area
  • Ability to create training courses based on site needs
  • Develop teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops
  • Excellent and demonstrated personal commitment to safety & health
  • Selects or develops testing and evaluation procedures to be used prior to and at completion of training
  • Audit and review all training courses for continuous improvement
  • Evaluate all training facilitators
  • Review SOPs with division management
  • Build and develop a competency-based training programs that ensure information is delivered in a manner that employees can retain
  • Develop 30, 60, 90 competency review process
  • Auditing training programs and materials
  • Document control and management
  • SOP revisions for site
  • Plan, manage, and schedule Annual Refresher Training for all employees
  • Assist with site hazard training
  • Assist with new hire training
  • Assist with evaluation and re-design of training system
  • Assist with new training systems roll outs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required upon hire and as a condition of employment.
  • Two to Three years of previous surface and underground experience in training and/or safety related field.
  • MSHA Surface & Underground Blue Card required.
  • OSHA (10/30/500) training, preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with DOT compliance and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in accident prevention, safety auditing, safety/health compliance, and performance as a safety technical advisor.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft platform, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to provide accurate interpretation of MSHA and Nevada mining safety regulations.
  • Knowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practices.
  • Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all personnel.
  • Possess good communication skills, i.e., written, verbal and listening.
  • Must possess strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in adapting to change.
  • Self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs.
  • Five (5) years of training experience in heavy industry experience required
  • Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required
  • Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others required
  • Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example required
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook preferred
  • Proven safe work record required

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Work is performed in various industrial settings, including shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
  • While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) during the workday.
  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
