Random Bit is Hiring a Health Insurance Data Modeler Near Charlotte, NC

Random Bit LLC provides expert Information Technology (IT) consulting services to state governments. We have established ourselves as a specialty consultancy company that provides outstanding technical consulting services in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, information security, cloud transformation, and compliance framework solutions. 

Random Bit is seeking a Health Insurance Data Modeler with preferred experience in Medicaid or Insurance to assist with the design and implementation of the data layer that supports cross-platform data integration. As a health insurance data modeler, you will be working closely with enterprise, solution, and data architects to implement data modeling solutions to support data integration requirements.

To ensure success, you should have in-depth knowledge of modeling techniques across conceptual, logical, and physical domains. Your expert communication skills are key to designing, maintaining, and communicating models that address both business and technical requirements.

This position is remote but work hours are 8am to 5pm Eastern Standard Time. This is a full-time W2 position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Data Modeler Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
  • Evaluating existing data systems for data integration needs.
  • Successfully develop and maintain data models that are flexible, scalable, and capable of supporting complex data integration requirements.
  • Working with the business team to create conceptual data models and data flows.
  • Working with the business and development teams to create logical data models and data flows.
  • Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.
  • Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
  • Optimize database query performance and report response times.
  • Maintain documentation on data models.

Data Modeler Requirements:

  • Insurance or Medicaid experience preferred 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with conceptual and logical data modeling.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling.
  • Strong technical experience with data modeling tools.
  • Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of web services and application integration.
  • Strong familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases and data structure design
