An Electrical Engineer is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area. This job entails designing high voltage substations (ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV), emphasizing physical design, protective relaying/control, and continuous improvement, while adhering to quality standards, coordinating with various stakeholders, and applying engineering expertise to ensure budget, schedule, and quality compliance.

responsibilities:
- Focus on physical design and protective relaying/control with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
- Initiate contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work.
- Perform internal Quality Assurance (QA) technical reviews.
- Prepare a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables for high voltage substation design.
- Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
- Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- May perform QA/QC responsibilities (Quality Assurance/Quality Control).
- Preferably experience in P&C (Protection and Control) design, but physical design experience may also be considered.
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering principles related to high voltage substation design.
- Familiarity with applicable design guides and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the relevant country.
- Minimum of 3 years of High Voltage Substation Design Experience.
- Experience level: Experienced
- Education: Bachelors
