We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Biller. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing patient medical bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues and secure payment for medical services rendered. Qualifications:

• Education and Experience:
  
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or certification in medical billing/coding preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or a related field.
• Skills and Competencies:
  
  • Understanding of medical terminology, billing practices, and coding systems.
  • Proficient in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Billing and Coding:
  
  • Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and patients.
  • Utilize appropriate coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) for billing procedures.
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of patient and insurance information.
• Payment Processing:
  
  • Track and follow up on unpaid claims, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
  • Handle patient billing inquiries and disputes professionally.
• Compliance and Documentation:
  
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Maintain accurate records of billing activities and patient interactions.
  • Stay updated on changes in insurance policies and billing regulations.
• Communication and Coordination:
  
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation for claims.
  • Liaise with insurance companies to clarify claim issues and secure payment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their accounts and payment plans.
