Rapids Water Park is Hiring a Lifeguard Near Riviera, FL

Lifeguards Wanted! No Previous Lifeguard Experience Necessary.Certification classes offered through Rapids Water Park. Free Entry Into Park On Days Off!Position Overview:Lifeguards monitor the activities of guests while in or on water attractions to ensure that all appropriate park policies and safety regulations are followed. Apply lifeguard and first aid skills learned through certification courses, department orientation, and in-service training. Provide a safe and enjoyable experience for each guest throughout the day.
Job Duties:
  • Maintain a polite and friendly demeanor while working and interacting with guest.
  • Adhere to and maintain the Ellis and Associates standard of care.
  • Prepare water rides and attractions prior to park opening.
  • Ensure all guests follow rules of the water park.
  • Manage emergency situations in the water park and assist First Aid staff when needed.
  • Know and respond to questions regarding the park operations.
  • Resolve customer complaints by using good sound judgment or by requesting assistance from a water park supervisor.
  • Assist with the cleaning of the water park each day at the end of operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Problem Solving Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information efficiently; and develop alternative solutions when needed.
  • Technical Skills Be cognizant of surroundings and able to respond immediately to emergency situations by applying first aid knowledge obtained during training.
  • Communication Greet each and every guest in a friendly and inviting manor; complete all supporting documentation in a clear and concise fashion; and able to read and interpret information quickly.
  • Planning/ Organizing Keep assigned work area clean and orderly at all times; fill downtime with appropriate tasks; and work in an efficient manor.
  • Quality Control Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work; look for ways to improve and promote quality; and able to monitor own work for quality assurance.
  • Dependability Follows instructions and responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; complete task on time or notifies supervisor with an alternate plan and timeline; consistently at work and on time for scheduled shift; and ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must successfully complete Jeff Ellis and Associate lifeguard training course. Courses offered through Rapids Water Park. No prior certification required.
  • Ability to work in outside weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs
Physical Demands*- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk/ pace; use hands to handle equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; be required to lift up to 100 pounds; and apply first aid techniques including CPR.
Work Environment*- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to water and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to confined spaces and or elevated work areas (depending on assigned location).
Occasionally = Less than 33% of time worked dedicated to the activity.
Frequently = Between 33 - 66% of time worked dedicated to the activity.
Regularly = More than 66% of the time worked dedicated to the activity.
