Job Description:
The Data Analyst requires advanced expertise in modern statistical processes and acute analytical prowess. The incumbent will helm
Go Raleigh’s entire statistical database and will be tasked with instituting operational and
financial transit programs. The Data Analyst will then utilize these tools to improve and
elevate company procedure and performance. Will provide a lead role in the preparation and
submission of the National Transit Data Report and North Carolina Department of
Transportation Reports for the City of Raleigh’s transit system.
Responsibilities:
• Report data regarding service provided, service consumed, and service resources.
• Provide relevant transit statistics such as: Vehicle Revenue Hours (VRH), Vehicle
Revenue Miles (VRM), Unlinked Passenger Trips (UPT), Passenger Miles Traveled
(PMT), and the total count of individual vehicle boarding.
• Collect financial data such as Operating Expenses (OE) for each mode operated, as well
as the sources of funds used to support transit service.
• Assemble data related to transit staffing levels, and asset data for fleets and facilities.
• Perform advanced professional analysis and oversight of financial transit programs.
• Conduct detailed analysis on data used across business units to evaluate and improve
• Respond to data and product related inquiries in real-time to support business and
technical teams
• Establish appreciation and adherence to data quality management principles, including
metadata, lineage, and business definitions.
• Provide support to tech teams relating to security mechanism management and data
access governance.
• Provide informed, professional consultation to management and partner organizations.
• Review, utilize, and maintain current Federal Transit Authority processes and statistics.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Two years of relevant work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Capable of identifying outliers and analyzing financial and operational data.
• Proficient in independently developing and implementing multiple program objectives.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Financial Information Technology experience strongly preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) is advantageous.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to verbally communicate clearly with employees, co-workers, vendors, etc.
• Extended periods of time viewing a computer monitor screen.
Work Environment:
• All tasks are typically performed in the main office
