Profile

Requirements of the Bus Driver

• At least 21 years old
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• A valid driver's license in good standing
• At least one year of professional driving experience
• Drives fixed routes and operates vehicles and equipment (wheelchair lifts / ramps, bus
• Drives sets routes, and operates vehicles and equipment (wheelchair lifts / ramps, bus headsigns, radios, fareboxes, etc.) safely and reliably.
• Operates vehicles for official transit business only and by the system's safety plan.
• Provides customer courtesy to all passengers, including providing information on bus transit services and fares in an accurate and friendly manner.
• Collects and reports passenger fares and ridership in an accurate, honest manner.
• Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to the procedure, noting mechanical failures and maintenance needs on a Daily Vehicle Inspection Report.
• Provides accurate survey documentation (i.e. : boarding / alighting, shelters / benches, obstructing tree limbs, maintenance issues, etc.)
