SummaryThis is a dual role with supplier management and account management responsibilities. During the onboarding phase of this role, primary responsibilities will be focused on Account Management with supplier management coming later. This role heavily prefers someone selling materials to the wire & cable manufacturers. Our portfolio consists of both plastic and non-plastic raw materials. The role will cover portions of Northeast and New England territory, working out of a home office.
The account management responsibilities include managing and growing territory sales, managing and growing current sales accounts, identifying and growing new accounts, and demonstrating general knowledge in all aspects of the individual customer relationship including resin needs, end uses, credit, logistics efficiency, inventory and the MHC value proposition.
The supplier management role is responsible for all facets of managing their assigned product group(s) and supplier portfolio, managing supplier relationships and resin purchases in support of the sales forecast and departmental operating plan. Responsibilities include total inventory management, negotiating short and long-term supply agreements, price guide maintenance, delivered costing, supplier forecasts, market trend monitoring, packaging strategy and direction, adding or subtracting suppliers, and developing long term sourcing strategies.

  • Achieves portfolio annual budget for both revenue and profits goals

  • Nurtures a robust personal network in the industry
Knowledge & Skills
  • Associate degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5 years related experience
  • High level of initiative, work ethic, and professionalism
  • Desire to learn and execute the sales process
  • Plans and organizes in an efficient and productive manor; prioritizes and multi-tasks multiple projects; pays attention to details
  • Experience in Sales, with plastics wire & cable sales experience preferred
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to grow and maintain business relationships at all levels at the customer and MHC organization
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Capability to create internal teamwork to focus on sales objectives
