Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for the effectiveness of services and academic outcomes in the Educational Program within Residential Services.
- Provides vision and long-term strategies and develops and implements programs to support the vision.
- Leads and maintains educational accreditation and annual budget.
- Leads, develops, and supports a successful educational team.
- Supports student development and participates in care planning.
- Ensuring that standards meet or exceed the grade level of the school's youth are transitioning to, ensuring coordinated and unified treatment efforts between the Education Department and Youth Services
- Oversees the development of an educational plan for the school by supervising and involving faculty, care team, and students.
- Maintain condition of the school facility and grounds by regularly inspecting and properly reporting items that need to be addressed.
- Lead the educational team in long/short-range planning and provide ongoing professional development of staff.
- Maintain and update school policies and procedures in a handbook.
- Preservation of student records and Individual Education Plans
- Ensure quality of instruction and instructional materials.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring and onboarding of qualified educational and support staff.
- Leads related academic programs including Youth Advisory Counsel, Job Training, Work Experience, Recreational and Activities.
- Oversee the student transition process back to home district.
- Creating and maintaining school schedules and routine
- Provides quality leadership to direct reports by demonstrating a relational, transparent, humble, inclusive, and empowering management style, incorporating wise biblical stewardship of facilities and resources.
- Achieves school’s financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as directed or assigned by supervisor.
- Completion of or enrollment in a state-approved school administration preparation program.
- A minimum of a master’s degree or the equivalent in education or a related field.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a minimum of a Wisconsin provisional educator license in teaching or pupil services.
- Six or more semesters of successful full-time classroom teaching experience, preferably with at risk or special education students.
- Experience in working in a fast paced, change-oriented environment.
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities
- A management style that promotes teamwork, innovation, motivation, and builds consensus.
- Strong communication skills
