Position Title: Buyer
Reports To: Category Manager

Primary Objective: Create an exceptional customer experience by ensuring that the availability of products that bring the greatest possible value to the organization, its customers, employees, and vendors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Product Management

• Craft purchase orders and authorize payments based on contractual agreements with suppliers/manufacturers.
• Maintain proper inventory levels to achieve company outbound service level goals.
• Deliver inventory turns to achieve company ‘Days Inventory Outstanding’ goals to maximize cash flow, food quality and safety while reducing risk for loss.
• Collaborate with inventory management team to ensure all deliveries are fulfilled on time and in full and reporting back any missing or damaged items.
• Communicate with field sales team for all product related news.
• Develop an accurate and efficient monitoring system for open purchase orders and delivering weekly reports to management related to key performance metrics.
• Foster win-win relationships with vendors, customers and internal stakeholders

2. Logistics

• Collaborate with logistics team to arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.

3. Procurement

• Work with Category Manager and in conjunction with Operations/Inventory Control in a collaborative way on improving slot utilization, slot allocation, and resolving all product issues.
• Monitor system reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to optimize performance and efficiency.
