Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide patient care and support in various therapy settings. This role is vital in helping individuals recover from injuries, disabilities, and surgeries by assisting in implementing treatment plans and exercises.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physical therapists in evaluating and treating patients
- Implement treatment plans, exercises, and interventions as directed by the therapist
- Monitor and document progress and response to treatment
- Instruct patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities
- Set up and maintain therapy equipment and tools
- Help patients with activities of daily living and mobility exercises
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and therapists
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification or licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques
- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and exercises
- Experience working in a healthcare or therapy setting is preferred
- CPR certification is a plus
