Duties And Responsibilities
- Allocates all orders each day, prints out customer pick tickets, attaches applicable labels and distributes pick tickets to the proper personnel for picking.
- Prepares, updates and maintains the daily shipment worksheet in coordination with the Transportation Manager in Lafayette.
- Processes all orders on a daily basis, including creating and attaching the packing slips, attaching all customer labels, creating all bills of lading, adding colored dots for specific LTL carriers, etc.
- Becomes the expert on all customer portals to input required information in advance for all customer shipments.
- Works closely with CERs to facilitate any and all special customer requests and expedites all hot orders as required, including weekends.
- Receives incoming DRP’s from other facilities.
- Pulls all material needed to be reclassified or checked/tested by the Quality department.
- Prepares and executes all export and container documentation, as needed.
- Maintains and files all pertinent shipping documentation/records for the required retention periods.
- Generates scrap orders and coordinates scrap shipments for all scrap streams at the plant.
- Helps schedule, performs and documents all cycle-counting activities, including fixing any and all discrepancies as they are found.
- Receives all incoming rod into the system and documents the weight of one coil per load into a spread sheet.
- Inputs all numbers into MfgPro for future reference by CER’s and/or customers.
- Verifies all truckload shipments using a unique, pre-specified pick-up number with the guard prior to all outgoing truck loads.
- Any additional duties or projects assigned by the Distribution Supervisor/Scheduler.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred.
- Three years’ experience in manufacturing; two years experience in logistics. Supervision experience a plus.
- Knowledge and skill in using a variety of computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet applications and business systems required, MFG-PRO preferred.
- Skill in handling and prioritizing multiple projects and preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports and files. Must be self-motivated, organized, and exhibit good teamwork, troubleshooting, and facilitating skills.
- Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
