Responsibilities:

• Social media content creation posting
• Assist with graphic creation, photography & content creation needs
• Copywriting for social media other marketing materials
• Basic social media advertising conceptualization and creation
• Assist with basic research, production, posting and maintenance of client’s social media platforms related tools
• Social media moderation community engagement on a daily basis
• Perform routine platform optimization
• Identify opportunities for additional engagement and messaging for the client’s brand
• Review digital marketing analytics, produce KPI reports, and provide optimization recommendations

Skill Requirements

• Understanding of communication design, theories, and principles
• Ability to develop ideas and concepts with brand guidelines & aesthetic
• Graphic Design, Advertising major or similar field
• Creative professional experience is recommended but not required
• Photography videography is a plus
• Technical skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are a plus!
• Must have work examples and/or a portfolio to showcase
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram (& related tools), TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Canva, and Google Drive
• Preferred experience with social media scheduling tools (like Later, Sprout Social, or Planoly)
• Passion for social media and on top of current social media best practices and trends
• Detail-oriented, with flawless editing and proofreading skills
• Highly-organized
• Able to meet tight deadlines
• Must have reliable transportation to and from our Detroit location

Things to note: This social media internship position is unpaid and based out of Detroit, MI. Non-local applicants will not be considered.

Time Commitment

More than likely, you’ll be required through your school to receive school credit for the internship, which will determine the number of hours you’ll need to work each week (approx. 15 hours/week). This position is required to be on-site in the Detroit office 2-3 days a week.
