Qualifications:
- Experienced working as a baker for croissants, pound cakes, donuts and bread among other items
- Being able to work in high volume baking production
- Being able to follow recipes and directions
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment effectively without losing focus on priorities and maintaining a high level of quality
- Must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of (and desire to continue learning) all aspects of pastry, including sourcing of ingredients, methods of preparation, cooking techniques, etc.
- NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certification preffered.
- Strong understanding, compliance, and enforcement of all best practices and procedures to maintain excellent restaurant hygiene conditions
- Uphold health and safety standards by enforcing strict sanitation protocols
- Production of all items for the bakery, including special orders and events
- Maintains quality control over all products being produced and ensures all products are correctly prepared, baked and displayed.
- Maintains excellent sanitary practices in line with DOH standards for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen, food storage areas and FOH, and trains the team to do the same
