Rebuilding Together is Hiring a Manager, Grant Programs Near Washington, DC

Manager, Grant Programs Salary Range $58,000-$65,000
Rebuilding Together, a national housing and community revitalization nonprofit with more than 110 affiliates around the country, is seeking a Grant Manager to drive the implementation and administration of its diverse grant portfolio. This position can work remotely and reports to the Senior Manager, AmeriCorps and Capacity Building.
This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day requirements of Rebuilding Together's diverse grant portfolio, including federal AmeriCorps National*Direct and US Department of Housing and Urban Development Rural Capacity Building programs. This position will support Rebuilding Together's grant programs, as well as assist in the compliance and quality assurance aspects of these programs. The ideal candidate 1) has demonstrated practical and analytical experience in the implementation of large-scale national grant programs 2) has experience working in federal grants, grant management/administration, and/or AmeriCorps and 3) has exceptional organizational skills that allows the candidate to balance multiple potentially competing priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day aspects of a robust and growing grant portfolio, including but not limited to; implementing grant award processes, regular communications (written and verbal) with affiliate network and/or federal agency, tracking against contract deliverables and program budgets, data entry and analysis, funding disbursement oversight, and monitoring of national sub-grantees as needed
  • Support the Senior Manager in the development of a multi-year strategy around grant implementation to ensure that the best interests of all stakeholders are being met by the program(s)
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure that all contract requirements are being met by deliverable deadlines, as well as to solicit needs, ideas, on-the-ground experience, and buy-in
  • Draft and lead affiliate-facing trainings throughout the year
  • Monitor affiliate/sub-grantee compliance to support the team's efforts to mitigate program risk, including but not limited to; completing regular internal file reviews to ensure proper retention of all required federal grant documentation, monitoring of eligible activities, and/or completing risk assessments
  • Lead compilation of data for federal grant reporting to ensure alignment with Director, Senior Manager, and Finance Department on report status, match and leverage tracking, and affiliate compliance
  • Other grant administration duties as assigned
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years' experience working in federal grants, AmeriCorps, and/or grant management
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and experience to design, manage, and track large-scale national grant programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical assistance, quality assurance, and grant, program, and budget management
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to balance priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, to listen actively, and to engage, inspire, and persuade
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals
  • Proficient in common software, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Familiarity with Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to pass an FBI criminal background check, state criminal background check, and national sex offender registry check
  • Experience in tasks such as recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, compliance with labor laws, conflict resolution, and overall staff support is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, or any combination of education and experience to meet the minimum requirements of the position

Vaccination Requirement: Our priority during the process of resuming work during an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is to keep staff, AmeriCorps members, volunteers, and homeowners safe. National office staff who will be working in the office (full time or hybrid) will be required to be vaccinated, unless an exemption is requested due to health or religious reasons. In addition, National staff who visit or work with affiliates in person must be vaccinated. Our National office will continue to follow local and government recommendations regarding COVID.
