ROLE

Under limited supervision, is accountable for the efficient and effective operation of assigned vehicle and the consistent application of safety and operational procedures.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVER – CONTAINER DELIVERY

  • Repair and deliver containers and/or bins to customers.
  • Performs daily routine safety checks, and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
  • Ensures all safety measures appropriate for operation of assigned vehicle are consistently and efficiently applied.
  • Operates vehicle in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Loads all assigned materials and containers according to normal operating procedures and reports any violations to supervisor.
  • Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
  • Assures materials being transported comply within the legal load limits.
  • Reports all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain support of good customer relations and positively influences the community’s perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

  • One year of related driving experience (Two years preferred).
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation practices.
  • Knowledge of basic Computer programs.
  • High school degree or GED preferred.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license.

Skill and/or Ability to:

  • Demonstrates ability to use computers and technology capabilities.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency and knowledge in area(s) of expertise as well as company business and proficiency in strategic and financial processes.
  • Communicates well both verbally and in writing; listens to and understands various viewpoints; shares relevant information timely; provides constructive feedback; maintains professionalism.
  • Presents ideas effectively to individuals or groups and delivers presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
  • Effectively and productively engages with others and establishes trust, credibility, and confidence.
  • Promotes collaboration and assists others with their initiatives and efforts.
  • Motivates and empowers others to achieve objectives and to develop a culture where employees feel ownership in what they do.
