Recon Healthcare Services is looking to contract with a local Psychiatric provider to provide services to inmates at the Douglas County Detention Facility.

Job Description: Psychiatric provider will assess, evaluate, prescribe, and manage medications for those with mental illnesses within the facility. Psychiatric provider will be responsible for and be the final authority for the Mental Health care of inmates in the facility.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice psychiatry in the state of Nevada.
• Current and valid Nevada board certification in psychiatry.
• Psychiatry degree from an accredited school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current Nevada State Board of Pharmacy License.
• Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria.
• Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques related to the correctional environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Duties:

• Assesses and screens patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, reviewing medical histories, performing exams, observations, and psychological testing.
• Analyzes data and results of assessments to diagnose patients.
• Prescribes, discontinues, and manages psychiatric medications for inmates in the facility according to diagnosis.
• Monitors inmates to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
• Develops a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed.
• Provides crisis intervention as needed.
• Completes all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Collaborates with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans.

Supervision: Psychiatric provider supervises all mental health aspects of the facility and other staff when appropriate. Psychiatric provider answers directly to company’s upper management and facility’s command staff.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $130.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 8 per week
