Description
Title: Tax Manager
Reports to: Director of Tax
Summary: The Tax Senior plays a key role in getting returns prepared and / or ready to be prepared. Generally, this person has attained the level of Senior Accountant and has the desire to prepare tax returns.
Duties:
- Prepare and file complex tax returns Including, 1065, 1120 C, 1120S, 1040, 1041, and associated amended returns
- Perform detailed review of tax returns prepared by tax accountants
- Perform book to tax adjustments using QuickBooks Desktop/ or QuickBooks Online
- Assist with federal and state tax audits
- Provide help with tax planning, estimated tax payments
- Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies
- Perform tax research, staying up to date on changes
Requirements
Requirements:
- Senior Accountant with advanced analytical skills; previous experience as a tax manager preferred
- Have a valid PTIN, tax practitioner identification number
- Demonstrated expertise in resolving complex accounting issues and reconciling financial statements to prior year tax returns
- Excellent problem solver and a demonstrated ability to self manage
- Ability to analyze financial statements and identify inconsistencies and non-traditional entries
- Ability to easily learn new software and comfortable using technology in general, including video chat software, email, spreadsheets, Google apps, etc.
- Willingness to work with clients in different time zones
