Title: Tax Senior

Reports to: Director of Tax

Summary: Tax Senior plays a key role in getting returns prepared and/or ready to be prepared.

Generally, this person has attained the level of Senior Accountant with QBO Advanced Certification and has the desire to prepare tax returns.

Duties:

• Manage QBO for key tax clients
• Tax preparation for small businesses income, personal property returns and personal returns
• Prepare and file complex tax returns Including, 1065, 1120 C, 1120S, 1040, 1041, and associated amended returns
• Ad Hoc Tax Preparation - 1099s, 941s, 2553, W2s, sales tax returns, annual registration
• Administratively manage tax returns through the filing process (gather documents, electronically file returns, Request 8879s)
• Assist with federal and state tax audits
• Provide help with tax planning, estimated tax payments
• Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies
• Perform tax research, staying up to date on changes

Requirements

 Requirements: 

• Senior Accountant with advanced analytical skills; demonstrated expertise in resolving complex accounting issues and reconciling financial statements to prior year tax returns
• Ability to analyze financial statements and identify inconsistencies and non-traditional entries
• Ability to easily learn new software and comfortable using technology in general, including video chat software, email, spreadsheets, Google apps, etc.
• Willingness to work with clients in different time zones
