Job description

Aspire Afterschool Therapeutic Program is seeking to hire an experienced Clinical Director to run our Aspire Afterschool Therapeutic Program.
To work as Clinical Director for our Afterschool Therapeutic Treatment team in the provision of care and support services for children/adolescences with a mental illness, learning disability, and/or behaviors that may challenge functionality; which aims to maximize the potential of individuals in line with ordinary life principles and improved community/familial functioning.
Accountability: Executive Director
General Description:
  • Create an environment orientated to trust, open communication, creative thinking & cohesive team effort.

  • Facilitate problem solving & collaboration
  • Maintain healthy group dynamics.
  • Intervene when necessary to aid the group in resolving issues.
  • Support new team members in working through the induction program to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge to effectively participate on the team.
  • Recognize & celebrate team & individual accomplishments & exceptional performance
  • Contribute to staff appraisals & supervision process.
Team Management:
  • Facilitate the day to day organization within the Therapeutic Treatment environment.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to provide effective care provision.
  • Manage staff levels of presence to organize necessary cover on a day to day basis
  • Familiarize the team with clients’ needs and ensure the team address all relevant areas of care within their individual sphere of employment/scope of practice and as it relates to the RBHS Manual for treatment services as well as CARF requirements
  • Organize & facilitate regular staff meetings.
  • Provide necessary organizational information to staff team
Operational Management:
  • Ensure safe transportation is provided for all clients in Treatment Services
  • Attend regular meetings as directed by management.
  • Maintain overview of daily records, incident logs, schedules and Strategic Plan of Operation (SOP)
  • Monitor all key worker records & support individual key workers to develop positive working relationships with clients.
  • Keep the management team informed of accomplishments & ongoing issues, participate in achieving resolutions to identified issues.
  • Facilitate positive working relationships with clients’ family & professional team.
  • To act in the best interests of the organization and those for whom it provides care.
  • Maintain quality & standards of the organization in all areas of provision of services
  • Maintain all areas of Health & Safety relevant to the service users, working environment and staff teams
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical:
  • Assist in the implementation of the philosophies and policies of the company to minimize the effects of the Clients’ complex needs.
  • Assist in ensuring that each Client has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning along with the review and monitoring of care plans, transition plans, 90 day reviews and CALOCUS Assessments.
  • Support and participate in Clients’ social and recreational activities in line with client care plans including day trips and holidays (Based on the appropriate level of progress in treatment).
  • Monitor all key worker records & support individual key workers to develop positive working relationships with clients.
  • Promote choice and involvement
  • Ensure all Staff Members work in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of people in service in reference to professional ethics and standards
  • Liaise with other agencies/professionals as necessary in conjunction with Managers.
  • Promote good practice in the team in accordance with ordinary life principles, psychosocial development, best practices in the field and in line with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Clients and their families and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with Clients.
Required Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Master’s Degree in counseling or clinical psychology strongly preferred or a Master's degree in mental health counseling, social work or a counseling related discipline.
  • Requires current OH license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to intervene appropriately in crisis prevention and de-escalation when necessary. Serve as a role model in this area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively orally, in writing and on both an interpersonal and group level.
  • Knowledge and ability to facilitate groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people from differing backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to be flexible in meeting scheduling needs. Ability to work on agency holidays, as required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of consumer information and appropriate boundaries.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, email, electronic health records, and general use of computerized systems and practices.
