ResponsibilitiesIn conjunction with a collaborating physician, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will perform the following duties:
Conducts psychiatric examinations.
Makes diagnoses and prescribes medication within scope of practice
Consults and cooperates with other professional individuals and agencies.
Maintain computerized entry of psychiatric records and reports, including all contacts with patients.
Orders and reviews laboratory work for patients as clinically and medically indicated, within scope of practice
Participates in professional development activities.
Provides psychiatric input to program management
Adheres to agency policy and procedure
Complies with HIPAA guidelines.
Productivity Expectation: 70%
Job Requirements
RequirementsKnowledge of:
General medicine and psychiatry; skill in the evaluation and treatment of mental illness; community needs and resources in the field of mental health; computerized medical records; good written and oral skills.
Ability ToEstablish and maintain effective relationships with patients, other professionals in the field, interested organizations, and the general public; effectively deliver psychiatric services.
RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid Ohio license to practice from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
A minimum of 5 years experience working in the medical field including past training and experience working specifically with the psychiatric population.
