Responsibilities

• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Respond and support internal and external inquiries
• Ability to recruit other employees in construction field, customers, vendors etc.
• Support President by providing financial data as requested
• Record semi-monthly payroll journal entries
• Review commission close-out calculations
• Lead month-end and year-end close process
• Maintain reporting by location
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Prepare and provide monthly bank reporting
• Analyze and present financial information
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies

Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• CPA is a plus
• Bonded construction experience
• Knowledge in site work, landscaping or civil construction
• Experience in construction liability insurance/workman comp
• Experience using QuickBooks
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables
• Accuracy and attention to detail
