The VP of Finance contributes to Chamber goals of membership, economic development, community, revenue, and relationship growth by managing the general ledger, ensuring a timely and effective monthly close process, and preparing monthly financial statements for all entities and departments.
The VP of Finance also ensures that all revenues and expenses are appropriately recorded in accordance with US GAAP and that the general ledger structure and reporting processes support the efficient creation of periodic reports to granting organizations.
The VP of Finance ensures that donor-restricted funds are properly identified and accounted for in the financial statements and assists in monitoring the use of grant funds in accordance with award terms.
The VP of Finance maintains positive relationships with employees by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and other forms of compensation as well as assisting with administration of the Chamber 401k plan. With access to personnel files and payroll information, adherence to confidentiality protocols is imperative.
The VP of Finance oversees the annual financial audit process and acts as the primary liaison with the external auditors to ensure all requested information is provided in an accurate and timely manner. The VP Finance also coordinates the preparation of annual tax filings with the CPA firm and provides requested information in an accurate and timely manner to ensure compliance with all filing requirements.
There are a variety of duties performed by members of the Finance Department of the Chamber and, while various responsibilities, activities, and tasks performed in this department are assigned to specific individuals, daily responsibilities may shift from time to time as requested by the CFAO. The ability to work with other members of the department as a functioning team is critical.
