Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a dynamic Mid-Level Communications Specialist to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA.

As a key contributor to the communications team, you will design, develop, and produce internal and external communication materials that advance national defense and security priorities. You will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients, ensuring the establishment and maintenance of client mission partnerships. Your role will involve documenting internal best practices, fostering a collaborative environment, and advising on strategic communications. You will coordinate and develop newsletter and website content, briefings, talking points, executive summaries, and marketing materials. Additionally, you will work with subject matter experts to coordinate and facilitate user and stakeholder engagements.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI 

• 5 years of experience with strategic communications 

• 3 years of experience in a client-facing strategic communications role 

• Experience with the DoD community 

• Experience with using the complete Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint 

Desired Qualifications & Skills

• 3 year of experience in working directly with senior leaders 

• Experience working in a technology or IT field 

• Experience with JIRA or Content Management Systems 

• Possession of excellent analysis and data gathering skills
