Job description
Position Summary
The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties including the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations. The Warehouse Specialist is also responsible for storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
Essential Functions of the Position
Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard
Operate material handling equipment such has pallet jacks and motorized forklifts.
Process turn-ins for expired or unserviceable stock in storage
Collaborate with Supply Technician and place received parts and equipment in proper location
Keep records and compile stock reports
Ensure that all supply requirements are processed accurately and timely
Mark stock items, using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment
Verify all receipts according to the data listed on the Materiel Receipt Document for correct National Stock Number, unit of issue, quantity and condition prior to acceptance
Examine stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
Determine proper storage methods, stock location, based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities
Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued
Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions
Advise retail customers or internal users on the appropriateness of parts, supplies, or materials requested
Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory duties.
Physical Demands
Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required to performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping to handle materials.
Work Environment
Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent.
Must have warehousing experience.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Ability to multitask and demonstrate attention to detail.
Must be reliable, responsible, and able to fulfill obligations.
Possess a Valid Drivers’ License.
Security Requirements
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
