Red River is Hiring a Voice Technician Near Arlington, VA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data network and telephony systems, ensuring reliable operation in line with DoD processes and standards.
- Provide solid customer service and support in a high-visibility environment, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
- Understand and apply fundamental knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, including familiarity with MAC and IP addresses.
- Perform problem analysis and problem-solving for voice communication system issues.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of configurations, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
- 3 years of related Voice Technician experience.
- 3 years of related IT/telecommunications experience working within the DoD environment.
- One or more active network certifications or related Telephony Certifications from Avaya, Nortel, AT&T, etc.
- Must maintain an active Secret Clearance.
- In-depth knowledge of voice communication systems, including ISDN, VoIP, VoSIP, and teleconferencing devices.
- Strong customer service and support skills, with the ability to interact effectively in a high visibility environment.
- Fundamental understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite and proficiency with MAC and IP addresses.
- Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to document work and maintain records meticulously.
Physical Demands:The physical demands for this role include the ability to move and handle tools and materials, work with fine components, and operate testing equipment. The technician must be able to see and differentiate colors for cable identification and perform physical tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of voice communication systems.
