Position Summary:

We're seeking highly skilled Electrical/Instrumentation craftsmen who excel at or exceed Journeyman level proficiency. Responsibilities include the removal, repair, and installation of electrical components, advanced troubleshooting, systems analysis and optimization, and potential mentoring of other electrical staff. This role operates under minimal supervision with safety as the top priority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting removal, repair, and installation of electrical components, along with systems analysis, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and optimization. May involve mentoring other electrical team members.
  • Safely executing both routine and non-routine repairs and construction tasks.
  • Performing preventative maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment such as substations, power distribution systems, motors, motor controls, process controls, and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrating expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, control systems, calibration of field transmitters/transducers, and various voltage equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards during installations and renovations.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), safety protocols, and environmental guidelines, while correctly utilizing plant and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical, and/or Instrumentation Program, OR four years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance, OR an Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment, with the ability to interpret technical manuals, prints, and schematics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain minimum personal tools as per departmental requirements within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of academic and practical competencies as required, including passing relevant assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience with VFDs, PLCs, HMI, SCADA Control Systems, low and medium voltages, AC/DC controls, instrumentation devices, diagnostic electrical test equipment, and HVAC equipment.

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English, including safety standards.
  • Willingness to work in potentially stressful environments.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment as required.
  • Compliance with drug/alcohol-free workplace policies, including pre-employment and ongoing testing as per applicable laws.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
