We strive to provide language learning opportunities in Arabic, English, Spanish and Mandarin through our programs and courses for adults and children regardless of socioeconomic background. Purpose of Position: Provide 1:1 academic tutoring to Kindergarten - 5th grade students, with a focus on Literacy Development. Duties & Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and conduct dynamic, student-centered, 1-hour tutoring sessions in English that follow established guidelines Record and complete student progress reports after each session Submit all student daily reports to program coordinator Submit hours worked at the end of each shift Complete and submit weekly updates to the program coordinator Provide 5-10 minute debrief with caregiver in English or Spanish at the end of each tutoring session to communicate student progress Commit to arriving on time and prepared for each tutoring session Commit to regular training and professional development Participate in team meetings Participate in quarterly team gatherings Complete all required trainings Approved fundraising activities to support Academic Achievers Program Teleservice support, as needed Complete (300, 450, or 900 hours, depending on selection) of service each year in service Assist in planning, organizing, and executing program literacy events Support: Tutor training Weekly digital literacy and professional development training Resource guidance Collaborative team environment Requirements: Native or Highly Proficient Speaker of English required Native or Highly Proficient Speaker of Spanish preferred Experience working with students ages 5-12 preferred Reliable transportation required Highly organized Able to express and garner enthusiasm about reading with young children Highly energetic Willing to learn to use online tools to enhance student success Proficient with computers Must complete a level FBI II background clearance & National Sex Offender Clearance Available to maintain a regular work schedule per week Benefits: Flexible schedule Living allowance Segal Education Award Professional development Loan forbearance SNAP benefits America's Service Commission: Member Assistance Program (MAP) Recognition events Supply reimbursement Hands on experience Contribution to community initiative Come be part of a global team!
