Redstone Commodity Search are working with an international trading house looking to hire a Senior Physical Metal Trader to be based in Houston, Texas (or remote work).

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Source and sell physical commodities.
• Build and nurture customer and supplier relationships whilst also negotiating logistics and financing with suppliers.
• Manage physical and derivative risk positions, including hedging through exchanges such as the LME.
• Attend client meetings and industry events (20-40% travel).
• Develop commercial proposals considering competition and market dynamics and make informed decisions based on this.
• Reports to Commercial Trading Director.

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Minimum 5 years physical trading experience; 8 years preferred: Experience in base metals, bulks, solid fuels, minor metals, ferroalloys, or related commodities.
• Comfortable with risk and change, decisive in decision-making and preferably with a transferable book of business.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of metals trading and hedging.
• To be located in Houston or work remotely from North America (must have US citizenship).
