The Tax Senior Manager works under the direction of the Tax Principals and performs tax related duties at the professional level and to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality tax services relating to the day-to-day operations of the department. The Tax Senior Manager is responsible for preparing and analyzing tax records and reports, processes local, state, and federal tax returns and prepares claims for tax refunds; completes statistical and financial reports; participates in the organizational strategic development of the department. The Senior Manager provides assistance, training, supervision and review, regarding the work of other Tax Accountants and participates in business development and client relationship management.
What you will be doing...

• Uses research tools as appropriate; reviews tax research projects; initiates research projects as marketing tools.
• Initiates client contact for proactive services; maintains professional relationship with assigned clients; developsadditional services from existing clients; develops new clients or new services.
• Effectively manages all tax department deadlines.
• Monitors self-evaluation program for compliance; participates in STP as an advisor; may serve as a mentor.
• Prepare level III returns with budget as necessary.
• Presents in-house training on specialty tax topics.
• Participates in Firm-wide development activities.
• Supervises and mentors other accountants to develop their skills and expertise.
• Engages in business development and client relationship management activities.
• Assists the department Principals in the strategic development of the department.

What you will need to be successful...

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA and requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience preferably in a public accounting firm.
• A minimum of five years supervising and training experience.
• Subject matter expertise in corporate, partnership, individual or trust and estate taxation required; prior experience working with large, multi-state, middle-market clients preferred.
• Successful experience with the management of Tax engagements and client relationships.
• Market presence in your specific industry or area of expertise.

What will set you apart...

• In-depth knowledge of individual and business taxation principles and specialized knowledge in at least 2 areas of individual or business taxation including estate, trusts, international tax, mergers and acquisitions and/or structuring.
• Experience with Profx and Engagement preferred.
