Position Description: Vice President, Accounting

Responsibilities
Manage preparation of property financial reports, ensuring reporting is completed timely, accurately, and in compliance with GAAP as well as company policies and procedures.
Supervise accounting staff in their daily responsibilities.
Oversee general controls of the companys books and records, including accounts payable and receivable, credit and collections, and cash management; create, implement, and update accounting policies and procedures as needed.
Reconcile entity level financials and banking transactions for the company and all related sub-entities on a monthly basis; responsible for monthly and year end closing of books.
Lead and manage property audit processes.
Support accounting, asset management, and other teammates in the analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of all financial activity.
Work with regional managers to develop annual budgets for the properties and provide monthly budget to actuals as part of reporting package.
Lead and execute special projects including automating and increasing efficiency of processes, developing training materials, and creating value-add financial reports.
Assist in software upgrades and improvements of accounting processes and financial reporting packages at the company level.
Qualification
Bachelors degree in accounting with 10 years of related experience; CPA preferred
Affordable housing experience, specifically LIHTC, HUD and property management
Expertise in managing financials at an owner entity coordinating multiple ownership
structures, JV structures, or detailed organizational hierarchies
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; expertise in OneSite and RealPage
Excellent judgment, attention to detail, intuitive interpersonal skills and problem-solving
Outstanding time management and organizational skills ability to multi-task, prioritize work, manage multiple deadlines and track deliverables in a fast-paced environment
High energy team player that is a self-starter who can work proactively with limited supervision
Effective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong ethics and integrity
