Midwest Hardwood is actively hiring a Front-End Loader Driver for our Kiln/DET Departments to join our growing fast-paced lumber industry. If you enjoy working in manufacturing and making quick decisions while working under pressure, then this is the job for you!

Who are we?

Midwest Hardwood Company is a hardwood manufacturing company and industrial building product distributor that serves domestic and international customers since 1981. We have three sawmills and two dry-kiln facilities located in Wisconsin. These cities are Reedsburg, Park Falls, Mellen and Fountain City.

Activities of the position

• Operating a front-end loader in a face-paced environment and safe manner
• Cut metal banding on packs and re-band with plastic banding
• Understand Kiln set up sheet, keep paperwork organized and make sure tags are marked off correctly.
• Load steamers according to length and unload steamers.
• Set uniform blocks on packs and mark load number on packs
• Stage lumber
• Assist with the pre-dryer
• Maintain the forklift with daily inspections
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Experience Required:

• Must have exceptional attendance
• Three years’ experience driving a forklift in a fast-paced environment
• Heavy equipment operator experience is a plus
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail attention to detail
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
• Good communication skills

Schedule:

Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime. First shift hours. 40 hours.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend and twist repetitively.
• Must be able repetitively lift 50Lbs.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to work extreme weather conditions (summer hot and winter cold).

Experience:

Manufacturing: 1 yr (Preferred)

Front end loader: 2 yrs (Required)

Starting pay is $19/hr, but may be more depending on experience. Must be willing to work weekends if required. Must have either heavy equipment or large forklift experience.
