Job Description
$90,000
Responsibilities:- Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
- Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
- Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
- Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
- Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
- 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
- Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants
- Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
- Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
- A passion to become an exceptional lawyer in order to help the most people as possible
