Position Summary
Maintain and repair all aspects of the building and equipment. Adapt to procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the day to day operations under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc.
• Disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts.
• Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• Install compressed air, gas, steam, condensate, water, and sewer piping.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment that could include lubrication, replacement of disposable and wear parts, alignment checks, adjustments and diagnostics.
• Maintain and repair the building, such as welding, carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.
• Assist supervisors and engineers in the specification and selection of replacement parts, needed tools, and equipment.
• Communicate internally with contacts outside the work group to resolve issues and/or collaborate on work procedures, including team projects and kaizens.
• Communicate with external contacts by telephone, writing, or in person for ongoing service, diagnosing issues, acquiring information on ordering parts by providing detailed information concerning equipment repairs, issues, or questions.
• Ability to carry out assigned tasks independently.
• Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies, 5s procedures, and in line with company core values.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skill Required

• 5 or more years of experience in maintenance and in an industrial environment or an equivalent combination of experience and education (technical degree or apprenticeship).
• Licensing or certifications for plumbing, HVAC, or refrigeration a plus.
• Possess or willing to obtain a low-pressure boiler operator license.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Capable and experienced operating equipment such as forklifts, platform lifts, and boom lifts.
• Effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
• Accurately read and comprehend moderately complex and technical material (instruction manuals, procedural manuals, warning labels, electrical prints, blueprints, charts, technical repair manuals).
• Ability to write to record basic information (record maintenance activities, completing forms, creating procedures, etc.)
• Knowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic skills such as, or comparable to: add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and decimals.
• Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of measuring equipment.
• Basic knowledge in computer applications to produce basic/standard output (word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, standard or recurring reports, etc.) helpful. Previous experience with maintenance software a plus.
• Knowledge of and ability in welding and brazing repairs and fabrication a bonus.
• Proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.
• Knowledge of and ability to select and adjust appropriate tools, objects or materials to attain demanding standards in different work situations.
• Knowledge of and ability to use tools or special devices to work, guide or move objects or materials. Start, stop, and control the actions of machines or equipment for which a course must be steered or guided in order to fabricate, process, or move objects.
• Knowledge of and ability to solve unique problems that are diversified and involved. Judgement is required to adapt standard practices and principles to meet new conditions.
• Ability to rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
• Basic knowledge of electrical circuits helpful.
• Associate must provide a complete set of hand tools. Specialty tools will be supplied by Regal Rexnord.
