The OpportunityAs the Associate Director, Facilities, you will be responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities. In this role, you would plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion
- Develop and manage facilities program and vendor engagement strategies which deliver a streamlined, efficient and cost effective options
- Procurement and contract management of facilities services (i.e. pest control, landscaping, cleaning, utilities, maintenance, waste management, security monitoring, health and safety, etc) to ensure limited liability
- Project management of the in-house and outsourced work to ensure the work has been completed satisfactorily, timely and in line with the scope of work and following up to completion on any deficiencies
- Inspect construction and installation progress
- Initiate planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment
- Manage the receiving function
- Manage preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC and office equipment
- Develop and administer the annual budget
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost control and excellent customer service
- Identify areas of opportunity and implement process improvements
- Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
- Bid all contracts to ensure pricing is in line with market and industry pricing for similar services
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise
- Must have working experience across the practices of facilities, construction management, administration, IT and finance
- Knowledge of architectural, electrical, mechanical, furniture systems and health, safety/environmental regulations. Ability to read/interpret architectural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical drawings and construction plans
- Proficiency and experience with advanced strategic procurement methodologies and sourcing approaches and techniques
- Project management / Program management: Demonstrate ability in leading complex projects to successful and on time completion
- It is imperative that REGENXBIO employees embody our core values by working collaboratively, building strong relationships and using clear communication to meet shared objectives
- Minimum of seven years of progressive experience and responsibility in managing multi-site facilities
- BS Degree in Facilities Management, Business or related degree is highly preferred
- Facilities Management certifications (FMP, CFM) and/or Procurement certification - CPM, APICS, MCIPS certification or equivalent preferred
- Experience with biologics or vaccine life-science related projects and a cGMP Quality Systems manufacturing and development environment preferred
- Ability to operate and execute effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines
- Understanding of building automation systems and process/equipment control systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Project management / Program management: Demonstrated ability in leading complex projects to successful and on time completion
- Highly effective at building internal and external relationships that create alignment
- Process-oriented with strong analytical skills and creative problem solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and persuasion skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and proactive approach that is results focused
