Region 7 ESC is Hiring a Coordinator of Accountability and Testing Near Kilgore, TX

Job Summary: Provide a comprehensive understanding of state and federal accountability standards, along with the underlying systems that drive campus and district continual improvement. Identify and support school districts requiring additional assistance, using state and federal accountability data as key indicators. Provide coaching, professional development, and technical assistance to campus and district leadership, including central office, campuses, and testing coordinators, in accountability systems and testing. Guide campuses through and connect them with school improvement efforts including the Effective Schools Framework diagnostics and support them in implementing instructional leadership practices aligned to their prioritized focus areas for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Training: 

Bachelor Degree or required license

Prefer Master Degree in related field

Major coursework in administration or related field is generally preferred

Experience: 

10 years of educational experience in a professional capacity
Central office or K-12 campus-level administrative experience preferred

Must be well versed in state and federal accountability and assessment

Knowledge / Skills:

Ability to build, develop, and inspire teams

Task execution (result oriented)

Build and cultivate relationships

Excellent communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively
Financial knowledge
Functional knowledge of effective systems such as ESF, T-TESS, and T-PESS

Ability to coach to improve campus systems

Effective problem solving and decision-making skills

Provide leadership in comprehensive planning and special projects

Broad knowledge of current laws, rules and regulations

Ability to interpret and implement current policies and procedures

Demonstrate proficiency in use of computers and standard applications

Effective interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills

Working Conditions:

Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress

Cooperate with staff members and outside customers

Ability to multi-task

Irregular hours; prolonged periods sitting at a desk

Occasional travel

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Plan and implement services to schools in support of improvement and compliance with accountability intervention requirements (A-F, ESSA School Support, Results Driven Accountability).
  2. Work collaboratively with ESC 7 center directors, coordinators, and their staff in planning and implementing services to schools in support of improvement and compliance with accountability intervention requirements (A-F, ESSA School Support, Results Driven Accountability).
  3. Partner with the Center for Effective Schools (CES), TEA, other ESCs, and state and national agencies, as appropriate, to support the provision of services to schools.
  4. Routinely monitor accountability and school improvement listservs, webpages, and other communication/marketing tools to ensure effective communication with customers.
  5. Provide support for the ESC 7 Accountability Turnaround Team, SWAT, and the Annual Improvement Plan.
  6. Support the accomplishment of the TEA strategic priority for improvement of low performing schools.
  7. Provide support related to accountability for the comprehensive planning process for the ESC.
  8. Provide technical assistance and professional development regarding campus leadership development.
  9. Incorporate best practices in instructional leadership skill building in the effective implementation of instructional leadership professional development and technical assistance (Texas Instructional Leadership and Effective Schools Framework).
  10. Provide professional development and technical assistance to Region 7 charters and districts in the areas of equity planning, state and federal accountability, state testing, and LEA grant support.
  11. Collaborate across the ESC and incorporate services to develop and coordinate an accountability and testing support cooperative.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Funding

All Region 7 employees are at-will employees. Because your assignment is funded by grants, federal funding, and/or special funding, your continued employment is expressly conditioned onthe availability of funding for the position. If funding becomes unavailable due to loss of state/federal funding or due to financial constraints of Region 7 ESC, your position is subject to immediate termination.
