Regional One Health, home to one of the busiest Level I Trauma Centers in the nation is looking for energetic, dynamic, and caring nurses to work on our new Medicine Stepdown Unit!!!
JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides professional nursing care to medicine step-down patients utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The nurse will be caring for patients with a variety of medical conditions to include (but not limited to) Cardiovascular conditions, sickle cell disease, cancer, renal failure, hypertension, CVA, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved nursing school/program. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the school-age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates.
EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience is preferred. ICU Step-down experience is a plus. Will train newly licensed Registered Nurse Experience in patient care as obtained through completion of an approved nursing program. An ability and willingness to apply nursing knowledge and skills and maintain clinical competency as required in assigned medical-surgical unit (Must satisfactorily complete applicable Medicine/Surgery, Sickle Cell or Forensic required training within three (3) months of assignment to unit).
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Registered Nurse licensure (or license eligible) to work in state of TN. Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment; repeated bending , squatting and stooping; exposure to infectious agents. Ability to conduct physical rounds to nursing/patient care units required. Visual acuity is needed to assess color changes, to verify accuracy of written materials, and to administer and accurately prepare medications. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently , and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
