We have partnered with a large construction company in the Portland, OR area to provide them with a Construction Manager - Mechanical. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.
Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Construction Manager - Mechanical:#1. Must have at least 5 years Supervisor/Manager experience.
#2. Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
#3. Must have experience with civil/site work (concrete, steel, building envelope, MEP, etc.)
#4. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years.
Responsibilities Of The Construction Manager - Mechanical
- Ensure projects are constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
- Develop and maintain project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records as well as perform change order estimating and assist in change order negotiations.
- Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, staffing needs, invoices and submittals while communicating project status on a regular basis.
- Direct and motivate subcontractors and staff engaged in planning and executing work procedures while directing jobsite office operations and procedures.
- Collaborate with involved parties to resolve problems, including work procedures and construction or design issues.
- Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
- Effectively collaborate with others to delivery a quality product on schedule and within budget.
- At least 5 years of related experience in industrial construction projects with strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Experience working with manufacturing customers in a variety of settings.
- Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
- Experience with civil/site work (concrete, steel, building envelope, MEP, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our small-firm culture is a must, along with a tolerance for ambiguity.
- This position oversees and coordinates the activities of the general contractors on the jobsite of assigned projects and is responsible for the performance management of the jobsite.
- 100% In office
- Primarily local travel during the business day, however out of state travel is likely for project coordination.
