A Key Player in Our Finance Team!
***Must live in the Baltimore, MD, Oklahoma City, or Dayton, OH area to be considered***
Are you meticulous, analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We're looking for a Cash Application Specialist to bring accuracy and efficiency to our payment processing. This role is crucial in ensuring that each payment is promptly and accurately posted, contributing to the smooth financial operations of our organization.
Salary range: $35,000 - $41,000/year depending on experience
What You'll Do:

  • Process and post payments accurately, meeting all deadlines across various lines of business.
  • Conduct research to accurately allocate unidentified payments, coordinating with internal teams to ensure funds are appropriately applied.
  • Manage overpayment notifications and processes, ensuring prompt communication with relevant parties.
  • Process additional insurance payments for copay reimbursement.
  • Follow up on rejected or denied claims per remittance.
  • Identify overpayments and notify collectors or accounts receivable representatives in order to immediately refund government payors and notify third party payors, Facilities and Private Pay customers of over payment.
  • Copy or communicate documentation or information required to bill secondary payors to billing representatives or accounts receivable representatives.
  • Complete all weekly/monthly reports according to schedule.
  • Process Adjustments and write off’s as needed for patient accounts.
  • Handle documentation for billing secondary payors and process patient refunds.
  • Contribute to our team by completing regular reports, participating in special projects, and aiming to exceed department goals in volume, production, quality, and customer service.
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and adhere to all company policies.
Who You Are:
  • Must live in the Baltimore, MD area to be considered.
  • A high school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Have general knowledge and understanding of billing rules is desired.
  • Experienced in medical billing or posting, with at least 2 years experience is desired (Experience in LTC pharmacy billing is a plus!)
  • A reconciliation pro, with a knack for detailed work.
  • A team player who values customer focus, eager to meet and exceed expectations, and adept at building trust and respect with both internal and external customers.
