About Our Client : Our Client is a dynamic and growing company, known for commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. They are seeking a motivated and experienced Credit & Collections Manager to join their team and help them maintain their financial integrity and customer relationships.
- Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement company-wide credit policies and procedures.
- Oversee and enforce credit and collection policies, addressing escalated customer queries and payment disputes.
- Lead collection efforts for overdue accounts and collaborate with delinquent customers to create payment plans.
- Supervise, mentor, and train the Credit and Collections team.
- Evaluate credit history, set credit limits, and maintain customer credit files.
- Build and manage relationships with external vendors such as collection agencies and financial institutions.
- Advise management on handling significant delinquencies, defaults, and bankruptcies.
- Communicate with customers to strengthen business relationships.
- Support internal and external audits related to Accounts Receivable.
- Prepare monthly reports for insured accounts for the VP of Business Control.
- Provide financial reports for senior management meetings.
- Collaborate with the Customer Finance Manager to optimize retail and wholesale finance procedures.
- Coordinate with finance companies on customer floorplans and invoicing processes.
- Ensure proper filing of security interests, including UCC filings and subordination releases.
- Ensure compliance with US and Canada Sales & Use Taxes, maintaining accurate information in the tax management system.
- Communicate with the Holding Company on state tax regulations.
- Act as the SAP Data Steward, setting up new customers in the ERP system.
- Review and approve credit applications for various regions.
- Work with the sales department to ensure consistent discount codes.
- Research and assign credit limits based on potential customer credit history.
- Maintain the accuracy of master data for all active customers.
- Administer the company’s Merchant Credit Card programs, including Data Security Compliance.
- Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Proven experience managing large Accounts Receivable portfolios and maintaining risk controls.
- Familiarity with credit card and electronic payments processing, banking concepts, and data security standards.
- Proficiency in SAP for Accounts Receivable and Credit management preferred.
- Understanding of US and Canada Sales Tax regulations.
- Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings.
- Experience in credit and collections operations in the financial services or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Strong capabilities in risk management, business processes, internal auditing, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage stress, time, people, and numerical data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, energetic, and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, both internal and external.
