What you will be doing:
- Prepare and analyze monthly journals.
- Prepare account analyses, balance sheet and bank reconciliation.
- Coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control processes
- Review and analyze the organization's accounting operation; recommend improvements.
- Maintain fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements for timely distribution to management.
- Serve as back-up to accounts payable functions including but not limited to verifying invoices, expense reports, check requests, and purchase requisitions; entering data into accounts payable system; and processing weekly check runs.
- Prepare annual property tax returns.
- Assist with annual external audits.
- Assist with related special projects as required.
Required Skills:
- B.S in Accounting and CPA, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles for GAAP and an ability to interpret the impact of new accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Comfortable dealing with deadlines
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
- Take charge and “roll-up sleeve” attitude.
Required Experience:
- 3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Food industry & CPG experience or other Manufacturing experience preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP system highly desirable
- Strong presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills
