Job description

Qualification/Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree (at minimum)
- PA Special Education Teacher Certification
- BCBA certification preferred or being pursued

Reports to:
- Special Education Supervisor

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Individuals will have an understanding of state and federal law governing Special Education, progress monitoring, best educational practice behavior modification.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and develop behavior goals for the IEP through Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP), as deemed necessary.
- Provide professional development and coaching in House Team Meetings focusing on best practices for supporting students with behavioral needs, and proper implementation of PBSP’s.
- Provide and monitor PBSP’s within the classroom as identified in students IEPs
- Frequent collaboration with special education teachers to monitor students with PBSP’s
- Frequent collaboration with regular education teachers to support the implementation of PBSPs
- Facilitate IEP meetings to review FBA’s and/or PBSP’s
- Monitor and support students exhibiting behaviors that require Tier 2 and 3 intervention supports for behaviors
- Attend grade level professional team meetings (SPED meetings)
- Attend administrative meetings related to MTSS & SPED

- Responsible for development and oversight of behavior-based 504’s for grades K-12
- Attend professional team meetings to monitor student progress
- Meet with students to monitor progress and needs
- Write and hold 504 meetings as required
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other meetings as necessary
- Community Resources/Outside Agencies point of contact for families
- Provide support, training, and guidance to paraprofessional staff - on implementation of FBA / PBIS

Experience desired:
- Experience working with children in the implementation of therapeutic skills acquisition and behavior change protocols.
- Experience with writing data based Functional Behavior Assessment and Positive Behavior Support Plans
